► (¿1300-58?) Pensador medieval francés, de tendencia occamista. Como nominalista, prefirió la experiencia a la autoridad de Aristóteles y sometió a crítica las concepciones de la física aristotélica. En lo que se refiere al movimiento de los proyectiles, defendió la teoría del ímpetu. Esta ha sido considerada como un anticipo de la teoría de la inercia. Entre sus obras destacan Compendio de lógica y Cuestiones sobre los ocho libros de física de Aristóteles.
